First Flight on Emirates - Any Tips?

My wife and I will be flying in F from LGW to AKL towards the end of this month and back from CHC. This will be our first flight on Emirates. I’m interested to know what to expect from the service in F compared with say CX, QF or BA. Also what’s the storage space like onboard. Anything else that we should be aware of?

Thanks in advance.

Yes!

Pork won't be a menu choice.

IF you're on the A380 , you'll be in for a treat with the onboard showers and J bar

Even if you're not, EK F is very good and I am sure you'll have a great flight.

Storage space varies across the different aircraft/flights but is also generally quite good.

Post your flight numbers to get better feedback.

Have a look at a few EK Trip reports (TRs) in Trip Reports to get an idea of what you can expect.

Cheers,

You lucky thing!

I've flown F a few times and have been dazzled every time. If you plan on visiting the J bar, make sure you get the FA's to send down a bottle of dom for you and your Mrs to enjoy. Theres no real advice from my perspective, other than enjoy your trip and make use of the great drinks on offer

Theres some pics of my F trip on my facebook group (see signature below) and I have a TR on Flyertalk somewhere too...

Sadly it's not the A380.

Flight numbers are: EK10 and EK434 out
EK419 and EK015 back

A mixture of A340s and 777s I think.

Flights out - EK010 and EK434
Flights back - EK419 and EK015

777s and A340s, I think.

Have you looked at the configuration? Not all 777s have the suites. Also, none of the EK A340-300s have the suites, while all the A340-500s have the first-generation suites, though they are still very nice.

Just checked the timetable and it says LGW - DXB - 777ER with First Suites and DXB - AKL - A340-500 with First Suites.

Return from CHC - LGW is 777ER with First Suites for both flights so I'm guessing it should be ok.

How does the service compare with F in CX, QF or BA?

Personally, I find EK F to be far superior that that of CX, QF, or BA--carriers that don't have true suites with doors. CX used to be fantastic, but management made the decision to cut down F cabin staff, while in EK F, on most aircraft there are still 4 cabin crew members assigned to F.

+1

The F cabin staff really are great these days and it's a shame you cant enjoy the A380 , no way to change the flights ?

It'll be a great experience so I do recommend it even if there's a few $$ involved !

If you're interested, you can click the links below to see EK F in all 3 aircraft.

To be honest , regardless of aircraft , you'll enjoy your F flight

Cheers,
