Bring a Guest to First Class Lounge?

Dear EK-Insiders,

I'm quite a newbie with Emirates but will have the pleasure of flying their A380 in First Class to BKK in 2 weeks.

I travel with a friend who - unfortunately for him - is booked in Eco.

So the questions are

-) chances of taking him into the First Class Lounge (DXB as well as BKK)

-) chances of taking him on the limousine to our hotel in DXB (limo paid by EK)

I don't hold any status with Skywards

THX in advance,
G

Welcome to the EK forum!

1. Unfortunately, you cannot bring in a guest as long as you are not a Gold member. That is, even when you travelling in F. But I didn't say you shouldn't try...

2. No problem to take other pax with you in the limo as long it is the same destination.

It doesn't hurt to try at the lounge. They might give you an exception.

Hassanal, are you on EK372? If so, I'd prepare to be disappointed if I was you as that flight has a habit of getting its aircraft switched. I was scheduled to be on the A380 in J on EK372 last month, but it ended up being a 77W

Indeed, I'm on EK0372....hm....of course I count on it being the shower-plane.

Any idea how to check in advance if it's being switched to a 77W flight?

fingers crossed!!!

I wish I knew, otherwise I'd have let my wife down gently after getting her excited about flying on the A380 for the first time

Last year, my colleagues and I were traveling from DXB to AMM. I was in F, while 2 other colleagues, Skyward Blue, (male and female) were in Y.

We were all staying in the same hotel, so I asked for transportation to DXB airport, as one of the perks of F travel (there were some issues, but after some convincing with the driver, he agreed, but insisted maybe 10 times that he will get into so much trouble)

We get to the F class counter, and the agent insisted that I could only check-in, and the remainder had to check in with the masses. So, we did that.

We get to the F class lounge not too sure if we could all enter. First attempt successful with me + 2 Y passengers who were Skywards Blue. About 30 minutes after, I see the person let us in, call me towards him so I went, and he said quietly "rules do not allow me to permit non-F, or non-Gold passengers into the lounge, but the girl is really beautiful, and I let all of you in, because I cannot deny access to a beauty like that. You are so lucky, and to reward all of you, I have put your names to be upgraded to F".

We get to the gate, and we all travel in F.

Sometimes outer beauty helps you get into lounges and upgrades, even when rules do not permit....sad, but true
