Hmm .. you are probably right. Thinking about it, I very rarely check bags. Its just that on the odd ocassion that I did (normally when off on a vacation or similar), it was not in the first 10 bags or anything. It was not last but it did not seem like the tags made a big difference. Probably just my specific experience ...

Afarid not, only Golds get access to lounges across the network.

Read the T&C for Silver members, DXB only and the old lounge in T 1, some people prefer it anyway.

I will be passing DXB shortly and the leg to which I depart from DXB will make me silver - which is even shown in their cool status projection thing on the website

What are the chances that they will allow me into the lounge already?

ps: LH also allows their own silvers access to most of their own C lounges, which was a appreciated benefit back then.

The rules say "no" as you're mileage will not be posted until the journey is completed, but no harm in asking.
