Stopover

I am flying from CHC to BKK with with overnight stopover of 12 hours to HKG. Will Emirates provide complimentary accommodation as it is over 8 hours. If not, Is there anywhere in the airport to sleep?

EK will not provide complimentary accommodation.

Firstly EK provide complimentary accommodation in DXB only. Secondly EK provide complimentary accommodation between EK flights - EK do no fly CHC-HKG.

EK is liable as per IATA guidelines to provide Hotels not only in DXB but other place's as well if the situation or the booking demands so. Be assured on this one.

Now the issue is your class of travel. If its premium then rest assured you will be provided a hotel in BKK provided your lay over of 12 hrs in legal(shortest one avialable). But if its Y and that too a discounted fare then no chance.

Safe Flying

Thanks for your info EGT. Its Y class I'm afraid. Will I be able to pick my luggage up or does it go straight to HKG. I'm thinking of booking a cheap hotel near the airport.

Was it a single ticket or 2 separate tickets (CHC-BKK then BKK-HKG)?

There's a link for long stopovers on the ek website which lists the classes eligible for accommodation. The easiest way to counter check this is to give ek a call.

I've booked a multi trip ticket:

BHX via DXB to MEL
MEL - AKL
CHC via BKK to HKG
HKG via DXB to BHX
