Same Booking, Pax with flex and saver??

Hi Everyone...

Im a little confused by this: My family (2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) are all booked Dxb-Jfk-Dxb for a June flight. On the Manage Your Booking page on Emirates.com, it shows my wife and I earning Flex mileage, while my daugher earns Saver mileage? Can someone please explain this.

Also, the totals dont match up for the 'Tier' miles for my daughter.

I don't see how they fail to add up. The saver is showing as base of 3000 each way for a total of 6000 whilst the flex bookings are earning double

For total miles earned on JFK-DXB a silver booking in flex earns 15000 miles vs 9000 for a saver which fits in exactly with what you are showing in your booking

All seems to be exactly what the miles calculator shows

I am not sure why one of the passengers is earning a saver rate, perhaps a call to EK and verify the booking details for the child; perhaps the child was booked in a saver class

Look again closely. For the child's flight, it says 9000 miles and 12000 tier miles. If she earns 12000 tier miles, she can't be earning 9000 miles. Their system is broken.

For passenger 3 - Miss xxxxx

Tier miles are 3000 + 3000 = 6000 total ( not 12000 )
spending miles are 3000 + 1500 + 3000 + 15000 = 9000 total
This fits in exactly with the miles calculator on the skywards site

Passengers 1 and 2 , on flex bookings, have a total tier mile earning of 12000, but not passenger 3

Under mileage for Pax 3: 9000 Miles + 12000 Tier Miles
Under mileage details for Pax3: 9000 Miles + 6000 Tier Miles

Also, I called Emirates TWICE and spoke to different people to see why this was as it is:

1) First person: Children are only awarded saver fare mileage!! (that cannot be true)

2) Seconf person: All child fares will show saver, but will accrue flex if adult is on flex.... ???

Personally I have no idea what it is. I was under the impression that all fares on ek.com were flex for US routes (I have not seen any saver fares in the last 5 months)....

Also, as an aside: Can two pax be on different fares in the same booking? ie: Flex for me, Saver for my wife?? (This info would be helpful as I intend to keep gold, whereas my wife will probably not make silver and there would be no need for her to get flex tickets this year)...

I was referring to the Miles summary which does say 12000 miles, not the breakdown, which shows 9000.

huzilulu fares ex-DXB are mostly flex, so I think the kid will earn flex mileage. As for your wife, it's good to have flex fares for mileage, not just tier status.

Try checking the e-tickets, at the bottom right hand corner it will indicate the fare type. This is much more reliable/accurate than the MMB system.

Actually, I read in the Skywards T&C's that the MMB is more reliable than the endorsement on the e-ticket.

The endorsement text or additional information area of the ticket is a partial indicator only. Full details of Miles earned on mixed fare tickets can be viewed at any time under the My Itinerary section of the Web site or under the Manage a Booking section of www.emirates.com.

hmm ... guess I was mistaken. Bit odd though, surely a ticket acts as a contract with the airline and should be more accurate?! especially that as huzilulu indicated, the totals on top do not add up?

I don't see how if it says flex on the e-ticket, Skywards would refuse to credit the equivalent miles.
