Emirates Pulling out of Glasgow?

I fly out of Glasgow usually a couple of times a month and can assure you that this is one of EK's most profitable route.
J class is normally full all the time, which I understand almost pays for the flight itself.
When EK started this route they were subsidised by the Scottish Gevernment for the first 2 -3 years. Then the SNP came into power and withdrew the sudsidy as the route was now established and profitable. EK threatened to pull out and the government called their bluff and said ok bye bye.
I then heard that Etihad offered to take the route on instead which promptly lead to EK agreeing to stay on unsubsidised so I doubt they would pull out now.
The purser on a recent flight said that the loads out of Newcastle were not as good as they had expected, so maybe just trying to promote the place.
