A380... to JED?

Imagine my surprise last night...

I know Emirates and Saudia have run 747s/777s on this busy route often enough, but I'd never expected my first A380 experience would be on the 2-and-a-half hour hop from Jeddah to Dubai.

The timetable still shows a 773ER but the crew said the A380 is going to be a regular on this route, at least for a while.

Yes - I had the pleasure of flying it there and back a couple of weeks ago. It was a nice change from the Saudi flights I used to have to take but it was sad that the service levels seemed to have been lowered in accordance with sector flown! None of the polish as on the LHR or CDG flights on the 380.
