Quick 13.5K Skywards Miles?

My sister is working with an NGO in Ethiopia and is trying to get to Uganda, but flights are $600+ (USD). Emirates appears to have plenty of award availability on that route for 13.5K miles.

Coming from a skyteam and oneworld background, this sounds pretty reasonable to me. Anyone have any suggestions on ways to get a quick 13.5K skywards miles?

Depending on where you live, you may be able to sign up to one of the emirates skywards credit cards which include a sign up bonus. Not sure how many miles but google should find you the details.

Also not sure if its possible but you maybe able to book a reward on EK from miles you earnt on other airlines if you have any saved up. I know UA is one of them. Not sure about others but im sure someone on here will be able to help.

The card would have to be US based. I did some searches and didn't see any Emirates credit cards available in the US.

There are some partner options, but most would require burning 30,000+ miles in their respective programs - a much lower $ to point ratio than I like to use. The 13.5K for a skyward award seemed reasonable though.

I haven't checked UA though - I'll look into that.
