Fly Emirates - Help Required

Hi Folks,

I am a member of BA and BMI frequent flyer services and I know very little about FE Skywards, so please bare with me here.

I have just booked return flights with FES from Glasgow to Dubai, Dubai to Oz, Oz to New Zealand (partner airline).

Can someone give me an idea of what level of reward(s) that I can expect from the above flights.

Thanks for your time. Please accept my apologies, but I know nothing about this scheme.

Without details it is hard to say. It all depends on your class of travel (Y,J,F) and the type of fare (saver or flex). You will not be getting any benefits such as lounge access or such from your Skywards membership yet as you are still on the blue tier but you will of course earn tier miles and skywards miles for your flight. The exact amount depends as mentioned above on class of travel and the fare type.

Im not sure if you realised that Emirates fly to New Zealand via Australia so you maybe able to save costs/shorten the number of aircraft changes if you take a look at their fares/routes. Also that way you can earn miles all the way to New Zealand instead of just to Australia.

If you click on Manage a Booking on the Emirates website and call up your flight details, it should list the Skywards points you will receive, or you could call Skywards and ask. You'll also qualify for bonus miles as this is your first flight as a Skywards member.

As littlegreenman said, you won't qualify for lounge access as a new Skywards member, but if you're travelling in Business or First you'll get lounge access in Glasgow (not sure if it's an Emirates lounge though) and Dubai, and can also book a free Chauffeur driven car to the airport (via Manage a Booking).

BTW, just to be pedantic, Emirates' airline code is not "FES" or "FE", it's EK.

I think OP meant "Fly Emirates Skywards", "Fly Emirates". The airline is called Emirates, fly is a verb they use to encourage you to do just that.

I know, I am just a pedant but you can't "book return flights with FES (or "Fly Emirates Skywards")", because there is no such airline.

IMHO if you decide to make up your own acronyms on a place like FT you're just going to confuse people. I was confused at first when the OP mentioned "FES" thinking it must be some other airline.

Sorry, was honestly just trying to be helpful, not trying to show someone up for making a mistake.

Yes, I know. I'm very pedantic about these things too, I was just having a go at figuring out what the acronyms could be. But I do wish people at least got the name of the airline right before going and posting!
