Thumbs up Updated booking engine on EK website

EK's website seems to be updated. The booking engine now gives a couple of useful options and info including miles earned / whether a flex/saver fare etc.

Tier bonuses and online booking bonuses not included in the total miles.

Just saw this myself and was going to post here. You beat me to it!

EDIT: Someone please explain why fares ex-DXB that are pretty flexible, are offered all year round, are showing up as Saver! I was looking at DXB - SIN in Y, and there are no flex fares available!

I would have thought one-way tickets would be classified as flex - apparently not.

Example:
One way MEL-DXB-CDG on 11/2 for 1677 AUD is a saver.
A return MEL-DXB-CDG-DXB-MEL departing 11/2 and returning a week later is 1839 AUD and is also a saver.

Now taking all my business to QF given they have a codeshare with EY now for destinations in the Middle East. I was happy to wait when I heard the changes and see what they really meant, this is an absolute joke and EK have lost me for good.

Still some MAJOR glitches to this change!!

In MMB I have two Flex bookings and both are showing as Saver miles. when I go to reprice same itnerary- same pricing but coming as Saver miles-- and best part is that there are literally NO restrictions on one of the tickets. CMB-MLE-CMB so seems to me that another untested modification put to work....

EDIT: It appears that ONLY saver miles are showing up for EVERY route and date right now-- unless someone has seen anthing different. I tried DXB -LON, DXB -YYZ and BKK and MLE etc all showing Saver miles.

I do not understand why Skywards does not attach the Saver vs. Flex categorization directly to booking classes, as most other airlines do (if they do differentiate between different eco booking classes). Introducing this new category is only creating confusion.

I am increasingly looking towards Etihad now.

I think you're right. Even a USD 9000 JFK-DXB J fare with NO restrictions whatsoever is showing Saver miles (when I can get a booking to show the miles, even that isn't working properly). So hopefully this is a glitch and all the fares I thought are going to be flex won't turn out to be Saver.

what a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. if Emirates planned to play this type of game, shame on them and shame on us for holding onto a glimmer of hope that the new Skywards wouldn't be too bad.

I get about 7 fares ranging from 170,000 Srilankan Rupees to a humongous 1,086,204 LKR for a First class ticket from CMB to Africa. ALL of them are showing up as saver. Hoping this is indeed a software glitch.

Earlier skywards.com used to show the same number of miles in all classes on the new mileage calculator which has been fixed since.

What is missing here is the possibility to choose either flex or saver ticket for an intinerary. Most of other airlines booking engine has this feature (SQ, MH, etc).

Maybe EK has a strategy where, if everyone expects saver miles, and some get flex miles, those customers will be super happy

Cheers,
