Emirates baggage interline
Hi everyone,
This is my first post, so forgive my lack of knowledge.
I just booked a round trip through EK from JFK-DXB-BOM and DEL-DXB-JFK and a separate round-trip ticket with DL from my home to ATL-JFK and back. I understand that Delta has an interline baggage handling agreement with Emirates, but I am not clear on the details. Although I know this is not always the case, I understand that it is usually not possible to check baggage through when the trip is booked on separate tickets.
However, my question is: at what point is it possible to book everything on the same ticket? If Delta and Emirates do not codeshare, and I cannot book the entire itinerary on any one of their websites, how do I put all of the flights on the same ticket so I can send my baggage all the way through (outbound)? Also, if I can't put everything on the same ticket, can I still check through with these two airlines?
Thanks!

Not too sure if the airlines need to have an agreement between each other. Two weeks ago I flew from KUL to BKK on MAS and then on EK to DXB and and LGW. The bags were checked all the way through from KUL and arrived intact at LGW.
