Sellected Seat Issue

I am not sure if this an equipment change or my selected seat has been changed, but when I went to print a hard copy of my e-ticket for a flight from Birmingham next week I notice the actual seat number was not shown for the first sector EK038 BHX-DXB.

It is shown as a 777 300ER, I think it may be equipment change to a 2 class from 3 class the drawing indicates 3 classes but Y starts at row 7?

Also I tried to change my seat, had an idea that possibly one reason why I do not get upgrades at BHX is possibly I am always sitting at the front of Y and they call passengers to the gate for the rear seats first and probably just select the first SFU's that turn up so I tried to change to a seat in the rear section but the system will not accept the changes, any ideas?

I noticed that if a flight is full and closed out that the days preceeding the flight you cannot change seat selections-- even if they actually show seats available.

I amways try to take the first row of Y and that has not stopped the one op-up Y-J

check seatcounter or KVS etc at th eloads to see if Y is zeroed out

Thanks for the reply, the flight is full, probably due to the F1 this weekend in Abu Dhabi.

Just had Email regarding my connecting flight, EK372 DXB-BKK on the A380 offering me upgrade for 1490AED, this flight looks like it is full in economy but 250 for one sector even on the A380 just not worth it and even if I did upgrade what's the chances of an equipment change?

Fingers crossed for an operational upgrade.

I've seen the seat selection on emirates.com show First and Business even if the plane is J/Y.

Cheers,
