Published in June version of Atmosphere magazine.
This is not such a bad deal.. For example Z to Brazil is 3300$ + 2*1400$ (to make it F both ways) = 6100$ which is much cheaper than the price of A and the points are almost the same.
Or get Y class and you can probably get F to Brazil/Los Angeles for about 5800$
Of course assuming there is availability and not getting the points and the "Extras"

Seating in higher class

Hi guys

I've booked LY323 TLVCDG 17/6 in D on a 772 and selected 10C. F service was
cancelled for this flight when I checked back a few days later. I saw rows 2 and 3 are available on the seating chart, so of course I changed immediately to 2D and the system accepted that happily.
Do I need to be worried about being asked to pay by money or points?

No. I did that from BKK recently. Having said that, I didn't think that much of the F class seats...

It is unclear to me too.
Yesterday flight from LHR had something similar. The people in the checkin and gate said that the F class section is closed and will not be used. However, upon boarding I saw 2 people sitting there. I asked the FA and she said I can get that seat for $$$ (2 weeks before I got that F seat for free).
Honestly the F seat is not worth the $ it is the same seat as C and I do not like both, cannot sleep in them (But of course they are still better than Y :-))

Sorry, she said "you can pay for it" or something like that and I did not bother asking for the price... I think it is a few 100s and it is not worth it IMHO.

I think TPL doesnt pay, I had this few times, last time was around 10 days
ago, where i asked the TPL cordinator to seat me in the F class seats (as no F class service was availble and i was notified in advance), and she simply put me there, On flight i saw people who paid to move there...

The F is more or less like the C beside it goes to 180 and your legs (my legs
at least) dont get stuck in the seat infront of me (this drive me crazy in C!)

They asked for 100$ in our flight.

I don't think that this is the case.. The F rows are open for selection for
me and it's the first time I see this. In the OP there's charge for this kind
of "upgrade", I'll let you know if I'm asked to pay.. I won't.

This is what I've got from El Al. Apparently F seating with C service is
equivalent to the preferred seating in Y, extra money for common people,
free for GL+

Thank you for contacting El Al Frequent Flyer club.

As a Gold member you are entitled to get those preferred seats for free.

Enjoy your flight.
