Barring a late arrival you should have no problem.

I wouldnt say that. Was on LY011 4/16 we took off 1 hr late , but made up 50 mins once airbourne

However even as a US Citizen it took well over 1/2 hr to get thru IMM , I believe a KE flight got in just before us. And then it took close to an hour for the bags to start to come out from arrival time

dont know if this is the norm as I havent flown LY in close to 25 yrs and hopefully it will be longer then that till I do it again (at least around Yom Tov time, I thought I was being held hostage in a Gan Yeladim and still dont know which babies were the worst the kids or adults)

I don't like LY 011 as it is very often canceled.

So what kind of arrangements does EL Al make for canceled flights...and if it does happen and I am going with a group will they keep the group together or split us up?

If you are economy--you are being optimistic. If you are flying Business or First you have a decent chance of making your limo. Flying business ( on an American Passport0 I have gotten out of the airport in less than an hour- -but I arrive in the AM on the 001. I know economy people who have been around for a few hours.

They usually place you on the following flight at 0100 into JFK
but they can place you on 0005 from into EWR
If all the PNR's of the group are cross referenced you have a good chance you will be kept together. make sure your local contact number is in the PNR
Also, even though you are told you have no need to reconfirm a flight
its al;ways best to call the airline to ensure your flight is one time......

Sorry i didn't mean to insult you at all, But as you wrote 08:40 {not 20:40 or 08:40pm, which means to me 08:40am}, i couldn't figure out what ELAL flight you're talking about, but of course you're right in the end of the day.
