Compare upper level vs lower on a 744
Can someone compare the J seats on LY 744 upper level VS lower level?
Is one more comfortable? Better service? Quieter?
Thanks for your help!

You may want to do a search in this forum for upper showing posts in the results. There are a good deal of people chiming in on this topic in various threads including which specific seats are better in the upper deck. From my one experience I would say that it is quieter upstairs but the service quality doesn't appear to be different.

I say upper is always better, and this is not just with LY but every Airline operating a Business class cabin on both upper and lower deck.
If you have never flown on the upper deck, it does feel more special, with more room, less passengers etc.
Almost like a private jet...
I never ever choose to sit on the lower deck, not with LY, BA, or VS.

Upper deck for sure.
I have flown it only in LH (and it is F and not C) but the benefits of peace and privacy are clear.
BTW, do you know why LY and other companies does NOT have F on the upper deck? It surely looks like a better place to put it.
Is it because it is too big?
Or perhpas for people in Wheelchairs who cannot easily go up those steep stairs?

Only airline I know of that has a mix of classes on the upper deck is VS that have Premium Economy and Upper Class on the upper deck.
However that is changing now with the Re fit if the new PE seats and the upper deck will be UC only.
Incidentally, LY did have First on the upper deck on the old 742's.

I work in a very small company with no big money and thus only fly Y (So sad) and get upgraded often to C.
I am looking for a job that will fly me only in C (or F):-) but it is hard to get :-) :-)
