Slightly chutzpadik request....
A friend called me today and asked if I could extend to him the "buddy" membership of the King David club that Gold/Plats can offer to someone (see the footnote at the bottom of the linked page). If you haven't reached the 1000 point tier then you can be nominated and then you pay the $300 and you're in.
But I am zero with El Al - haven't flown them for ages. So, perhaps one of you esteemed FTers is a Gold / Plat member that hasn't yet extended this offer to anyone and won't mind doing it for my friend.....
I'm sure he'll be prepared to make an appropriate charitable donation in lieu of his 1000 points.
Any takers? Think of it as a big Mitzvah. Not really, but think of it that way....

Mitzvah = good deed. Well, sort of. Wikipedia will give you more information than you need on this one.
