On a 747 upper deck there is an exit (in LY case - between row 74 and 77). The area behind row 74 is usualy open and can be used for storage of small bags. If you look at this picture, you can see the 2 boxes marked as S in the map. They are 2 small closets or other storage ares behind row 74 and in front of the exit door.

In general, the upper deck is more recommended than the lower deck because it more quiet and much smaller (4 in a row compared to 7 in the main deck). The main deck cabin is also very close to the coach cabin.
The overhead bins in the upper deck are very small (comparable to regional jet bin size) but there are additional large bins between the window seats and the wall/window.

Seat with the Most Leg Room

Which seat number/row in coach on 747-400 is the seat behind the exit door that has all that extra leg room? Its a 747-400. Does anyone have the seating chart? Visual?

Does anyone know what the seat pitch is in economy on LY? If I'm going to be stuck for 12 hours in economy (NYC-TLV), and the price is roughly the same among several airlines, an extra few inches could make a big difference. Thanks.

Seat Pitch: 32" in Y, 56" in C, 69" in F.
IFES Screen Size: 7" in Y, 10" in C & F (744/777 only)

(IFES = In Flight Entertainment System)

Are you sure about that? I think the 777 screens are larger than the 744 screens in C (never been in F on a 744 so I can't comment).

I do fly LY because of the security though.
Flying upstairs on the LY747 was the biggest dissapointment I ever had flying. I'm not sure thatthey are less clean, just incredibly used/old.

I'm afraid to tell you that there are NO PTV's on the 737 all Versions. Only 744 & 777 have PTV's.
