Status extension

My status was due to expire on July 31st 2020 and I now see it is extended to July 31st 2021. I am still missing a significant amount of points.
Was there any official communication on this? I just remember a communication about a 6 month extension.

I just went online to look at my status. Yup, instead of 30/9/2020, it’s 30/9/2021. I guess they just did it!- figured they’d get no complaints. I wonder what will happen to those who manage to go up a level due to the extra time- will that be honored too.,

Interesting because the reports were they were extending for 6 months not 12.

This is ElAl we're talking about. They are not very good with PR or communication...

Lol! They did send emails about the 6 months extension so one would think that they would do it for 12 months too. But to be fair now that I think about it most of their employees are on leave

Does anyone know what will happen to Matmid points older than 3 years that normally get deleted? Will Elal add in 4-6 months before deleting them?

Good point. So far they haven't announced any change in policy in that respect.

They also zeroed out all previously earned points. So you have to start flying sooner than later to regain status.
