LY announces TLV-ORD nonstop in 2020

Hi all,

El Al announces ORD-TLV nonstop in 2020.

https://en.globes.co.il/en/article-e...hts-1001276138

Hoping AA or UA to start direct flight from ORD-TLV in near the future.

Last time LY has flies ORD-JFK-TLV over decades ago, but they using North American Airlines from JFK-ORD.

ORD makes more sense than MCO. But in general, it would be better if they'd make up with AA so they could drive feed in ORD/MIA/JFK, since AA now has no interest in flying to TLV anymore.

Yeah, unfortunately. They couldnt have enough profitability. They losing the money and they wants to pay the money back to former TWA employees.

I don't know about that. I don't think AA ever resume nonstop TLV flight in a distant future. They won't be back for a quite some time.

Ynet wrote that the plane will have 235 seats. Thus I believe the 788 will operate this route.

The 788 is the ideal plane for the route

Another route to lose more money on unless they're looking to have a solid partnership with AA.

AA clearly doesn't want to /can't serve TLV itself, so I'd think they'd kiss and make up. It'l help AA at JFK/MIA and ORD (maybe even a little west coast connections out of LAX).

Correct! AA doesn't want go back to TLV in a long time. They won't return to TLV anymore. Only DL, UA still flies TLV flight.
