Booking nyc-tlv and earning miles on a dif airline?

Booking nyc-tlv and earning miles on a dif airline?
Is that possible? I don't care which one really. Just hoping to I earn miles on another airline as I have to book with elal for israel anyway so I rather earn miles/points with another airline

I know but delta is too late in the day (1050pm).
Kills me because I have the delta card so I would have made 7 miles per $ for this silly expensive tickets....
Thought about booking through amex travel which I think will earn me 4x MR per $ (gold category airfare then extra point?) but it is $300 more expensive than through elal.com
Any other ideas how to maximize elal ticket purchase? I also have the CSR
