Even once it starts up, the data which answers the question will be a trade secret. The planes may be full or relatively empty, but what matters is what people are paying, e.g., PRASM.

New routes also have their ups and downs. There are people used to flying/traveling to NYC, who will fly non-stop from Boston and people inbetween who would have headed to NYC who will now trek into Boston. Changing consumer buying habits takes time.

Its not all that difficult with EL AL, as it is possible to view the seatmap from, for example, ExpertFlyer, and get a good idea as to how full the flights are. EL AL allows all passengers to have advance seat selection so this gives quite a good indication, as opposed to, for example, BA, where most passengers do not reserve seats in advance.

  • flight from TLV is expected to land at Logan just before 6 a.m. Sunday.
  • departure from BOS TO TLV Sunday at around 9 p.m.
  • The Israeli flag will be raised at Logan International Airport in Boston at a ceremony on Sunday
  • The flights will also serve as a gateway to 19 other U.S. cities through El Al’s partnership with Jet Blue Airlines, including Washington, D.C.
  • Shlomi Shabat is an Israeli singer (??) on flight from TLV to BOS
  • New England Patriots’ wide receiver Julian Edelman will be on first flight from BOS to TLV
