Hi Liat,
Nice to see you here after such a long time.
I'm sure we'd all be happy if you read also other threads.
There are a few questions waiting for your answer.
Maybe start with the lounge question when flying "up". I'm sure that by now someone figured this out.
Thanks

Perhaps the reason why Liat has not responded to those questions was because she sent them up the chain of command and has not yet received an answer? That's happened before.
It's easy to single Liat out b/c she is the "face" of EL AL on this forum, but lets not forget that her job is to monitor and pass along messages/information. My understanding is that she can only answer questions once shes checked with the higher ups. The incompetence we complain about are her higher ups.
So, let's be nice to Liat and try to have empathy for the position she is in. She's done quite a bit for this forum including organizing a memorable DO at EL AL HQ last year where we had amazing access to a lot of things concerning LY ops.

As you said, Liat is the face of EL AL on here, and so as such she is the one any complaints are going to be directed at (the CEO isn't on here...) and so I'm sure she known not to take any of them personally, the same way my customer service team know not to take any anger directed at them personally, because they are simply representing the company and that is their job.
That's not to say they shouldn't be spoken to with the degree of respect which they deserve, but no one here was being disrespectful to Liat either.
I do think she could be more engaging here (but then there isn't much engagement on their facebook page either...) and I think just saying sorry but I simply don't have an answer, is better than just ignoring it for so long.
The truth is, that specific lounge access question is a simple policy question which should have been answered in 5 minutes, and so it is beyond ridiculous that Liat cannot get an answer from someone.

Don't act surprised when people first suggest something, and only later think what it actually means (see the discussion about the VAT on new apartments in Israel). My guess is that just like in the case of 4U (4U is LH's UP), they thought about not allowing status pax enter lounges, unless they have very very high status or very high booking class. 4U got so much backlash, that (unless I completely got the 4U revised lounge rules) allow all high status pax access. I guess someone in LY's HQ is doing two things (and very slowly) - 1. trying to estimate the cost/benefit ratio; 2. trying to understand what 4U did wrong, so they won't do the same.
