Connection from LY at JFK

I'd like some advise:
Flying TLV-JFK on the 001 connecting to AA to SFO.

How long do you think is a safe connection for an American citizen and for an Israeli citizen?

Both flights in C.

Depends on how long the line is and if you get selected for advanced screening. Since the arrival is so early ( I've taken LY001 countless times) the lines at passport control won't be very long. You will have to change terminals however. To be on the safe side, id give it 3 hours or so.

Of course no Global Entry, only Americans can participate in that. I also ride 001 regularly. I have found the lines have gotten to be ridiculous. The last time it was over 1.5 hours--and I am on an American passport. I now have Global Entry, so I only know what others report. Also, the airtrain lets you off in Terminal 8 ( AA's terminal) a ghastly distance from the check in. You need to leave time for that hike!

Not really. It's open to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, Dutch citizens, South Korean citizens and Mexican nationals. My understanding is some UK citizens have also been offered it on a discretionary basis.

That's the right idea. I did this connection a few months back connecting to VX flight to SFO in the same terminal and barely made it in 2.5 hours. Expect the lines to be long. 001 landed around the same time as an SA flight from JNB and a JJ flight from GRU. Long line, but amazing people watching.
