Missing IFE? I can bring my own.
Missing power? Big issue
Missing WiFi? I don't mind unconnecting from the world for a bit.
Actually the 767's are supposed to have the Streaming Media app over wifi: http://www.elal.com/en/PassengersInf...Streaming.aspx

"Supposed to" is the key phrase here

If you fly Y I agree this could be a good option for flying TLV-BOS-TLV but C is really sub-par on the 767. I mean it's not good on the 777 or 744 but on the 767... If LY get rid of those aircraft and replaces them with 787 that will become a different story, hopefully upgrading C at the same time.

The article makes no sense. It says that LY learned their lesson from when they failed in GRU. LY learned a lesson? Really?

Also says there will be WiFi and "other services" - interested on both counts.

What is מחלקת ביניים? Would that be something like Premium Economy?

It is the current economy plus they have, not a proper one (like BA).

Unless this includes an overhaul of all the 763's,(why would they designate a BOS 767) it doesn't make any sense. Then again, its not just an airline, its Israel.

Ah, OK. Thought they were saying they'd overhaul the plane to include that.

So I hear that booking will be possible starting Tuesday.

Please go ahead and cue the hysterical laughter now, but does anyone think they might have deals on fares for the launch?

Perhaps they will have deals as they introduce the new route, but it all depends on whether they can fill a 767 up with BOS-TLV passengers at the start.

Just checked some biz fares on the route throughout July.

LY: $4,299
LX: $3080
BA: $2640

Paying that kind of a premium for a nonstop isn't too unreasonable. At least compared to prior experience trying to book LY to LAX and having it be $7000 vs. $3500 on BA.

I can't get any to come up yet for July or August searching for the BOS-TLV-BOS direction. Hopefully I'll see them soon.

Provided the difference isn't completely out of line, I'm certainly willing to pay a bit more for nonstop.
