What are the new security arrangements?

Ben Gurion Airport's Terminal 3 will be closed tomorrow, Friday, June 7, and on the following Friday, June 13, between noon and 8 pm.

Ben Gurion Airport is undergoing a major operational change that requires work on infrastructure to connect and operate a new technological system for security checks. The change is designed to shorten and improve the process for departing passengers.

Seems to be an underground 'CT' machine for screening luggage to replace the scanners before check in.

Beware a video ad with voice starts playing when you open the page

I wonder why the technology is breakthrough, I thought every airport in the world has xray machines.

If EL AL and Ben Gurion Airport are ever to expand and become a connecting carrier/hub, more security related technology will need to be used and relied upon.

Not really. I mean no more than currently done. The only difference is where in the process this takes place. Instead of queuing people at the machines in the checkin hall and doing partial checks, now all bags will be checked in the same process after they have been checked in. How is this putting any more or less faith in technology?

I read somewhere that it will be operational starting October, so probably no (plus, I was in TLV in Friday and it wasn't operational).
