Question Expiring points - anything to do before it's gone?

Some of my points are set to expire, and I'm wondering if there's anything useful for me to do just before it will happen?
Most of the US companies allows you to buy things like magazine subscription, but I haven't seen anything like that on LY.
Also, not enough are expiring to get second luggage allowance or anything of that nature (unless I can move points around since points will expire on my kids' accounts as well)

Any ideas?

You can use the points for discounts on el al duty free items. The person with the points does not need to be the one travelling, it can be anyone, you just have to input the order at least 48-72 hours before the flight you want the duty free delivered to. The person on the flight will need to pay the cash portion of the purchase on the plane ( by credit card).

There are some good deals using the points, especially if they are going to expire anyway. The Johnny Walker Double Black was a great one.

It's 100 each for the kids, 120 for me.
Next flight will be two weeks after the expiry date...

It's not a lot of points. Aside from upgrading yourself to an exit row seat in Y there may not be much more you can do with those points. How about donating them to the charities LY has partnered with?

Can't do exit row as kids are too young.
Anything else?

Matmid (TL) members flying in Economy Class are entitled to store a second piece of baggage up to 23 kilos, in the hold/ For 140 Matmid Club Points (each way).
Do you have AMEX? Not the best use of points but you can transfer MR to El AL and redeem for extra bags?

as mentioned above you can partial redeem for discounts on Duty Free items-most seem to be in your range. Use them now, and then pick up on the flight.

@Simba8 - thanks, but it's 200 points for North America flights, and I don't think I can "combine" points, can I?
@ELY001 - seems like this is the only thing, assuming no DF purcases

Thanks guys

nope you cannot combine point-accounts to get a free bag.
If you had more time with your points, I would have suggested getting an Matmid gift points card for $50, (for 50 points) and then combine that with you existing points to redeem for an extra bag.
