Newbie thread - please forgive

Hey guys,

I'm new to the whole redemption of points for awards, but I've been collecting a while, please forgive if double post. Is it possible to redeem United, USAirways, AA, or Delta to fly on El Al to Israel? I want the whole El Al experience when I go to Israel.

What routing would work on ExpertFlyer?

Shalom!

You can redeem AA miles for LY flights. check AA.COM for more details.
The other airlines you mentioned fly to Israel themselves and have no partnership with LY. Of-course you can use their miles to travel on them or one of their other partners.

BTW, the LY experience doesn't really exist. In fact, in my opinion, especially on business class, LY is the worst airline between the US and TLV (they may have good service, depending on the crew, but worse seats compared to other airlines).

What is the lowest mileage that can be redeemed on AA for round trip to Israel from USA? Are there 60k super saver awards?

I believe it's 80000 for a roundtrip ticket.

Is that because the distance to Israel is greater than say Europe? Like I can fly SFO - to Russia for 60k RT, but not Israel?
