J class availability
Are there a set number of J class seats sold per flight?
Is it possible that there are some flights where there are never any J class seats on sale?
Could ElAl suddenly decide to open up some J class seats if overall business availability remains high?

Anyone out there have any experience of J class seats opening up close to the date of travel? I am wait-listed on two flights for J-class availability. If business class has spare seats, surely ElAl would prefer to have someone flying in J-class rather than leaving the seat empty?

One thing that I can say good about El Al is it is not a machine. If you have a compelling story, or try hard enough, they open additional award seats for you. This is totally different than most other airlines where the computer is god and cannot be changed.

close to the date of travel, sometimes only C,I remain open. as people that MUST take that flight, will pay the price.
J will open up if there are enough places available.
dont expect that if there are only a few seats available, that J will open up.
it might happen, but dont count on that.
just take a look at the flights to/from HKG/BKK that elal decided to sell F class on each day (except from the 747 with no F).
sometimes there is only one pax in the entire F section, instead of opening it up and allowing to sell 12 more biz seats. go figure...
and they overbook the C section, as they know they can upgrade people to F in case of everyone showing up.
