Matmid points expiry

Matmid points expiry
Hi all
I couldn't find a specific thread on this.
I get very frustrated at the rapid expiry of my Matmid points that seem to disappear unless you fly with LY numerous times a year.
Are there any ways to stop this happening as I am not building up anything!

i'm afraid not.
Matmid points are valid for 3 years and then expire (except for "extra points").
You could fly BA where points don't expire unless there is no movement in your account for 3 years, oh but wait, they are not as safe to fly as LY so perhaps better stick with them...
