LY/AA

Posted a similar q in the AA forum, but I think this post is justified...

Flying iy"h TLV-LHR(overnight)-BOS-DFW. LY then AA.
1) Will I be allowed one or two bags?
2) Will LY interline in this case?
3) Is it more advisable to use my Matmid or AAdvantage number? Flying G,N on LY and N,S on AA.
4) Any idea about non-meat meals due to 9 days?

1) in my experience TLV-LHR-JFK, LY allowed 2 bags because it is longhaul but AA in LHR charged the 2nd bag fee. (it was a stopover.)
3) Can't see any difference in regards to baggage allowance, without status.
4) No idea.

Just order a fruit plate, or a VGML on El Al. Standard meals will include meat in my experience.

LY will allow you 2 bags. Regarding AA, this is better asked in the AA forum. I can see it going either way, unless the bags are interlined. If so, you will obviously not be charged on the outbound, and shouldn't be on the return either. As for whether or not they will be interlined...

2) Will LY interline in this case?

How many hours is the layover? Was this booked as a single ticket? If less than 12 hours, and it was booked as a single ticket, then I believe they should be interlined

3) Is it more advisable to use my Matmid or AAdvantage number? Flying G,N on LY and N,S on AA.

That depends. Do you have status with either? Are you looking to gain miles/points with either program for reward travel anytime soon?

4) Any idea about non-meat meals due to 9 days?

Does LY cater for the nine days? As for the AA leg, many people (though certainly not all) seem to say that with Hermolis, you can be pretty sure of getting a dairy meal. Try speaking to Hermolis to see what they say
