It's a decent lounge. Not sure that it's up to the standards of BA's Concorde Room and the like, but still a nice place to be before your flight.
If you have no other access method, you can access the lounge for either $29 or 60 Matmid points. (I presume that the $29 would be converted to pounds, and be roughly 15-20 GBP, but that's a guess AND an estimate.)

It hasn’t been touched for years.
We've discussed it here on a number of occasions, and the general consensus was it could certainly do with a makeover, and while I wouldn't say it's terrible by any means, a refurbishment is well overdue.
In fact I'm sure there were plans to do so not sure what happened to that.
Anyway, I guess it’s down to what one is used to.

nahh, Its a very ok one..., I enjoy everytime i am there,
Its clean, The food is good, The first class one is also nice one.
The only bad part is that you need to use the airport toilets
rather a lounge private ones (as they dont exist).

I would expect LY to close the LHR lounge, it's too old, little, ugly and it has no toilets. They only have 11 weekly LHR flight, doesn't the cost of renting LHR space for only 11 weekly flights is too high?
They can use the bmi lounge or the *A lounge which are much better, and pay less. It's a win-win situation - both for them and for the customers.

But that's about it.
I used to like it but now it's just looking tired that all which makes a lot of sense considering it hasn’t been refurbished for years.
I was actually with a group of people yesterday, every single one of them KD members and every single one of them agreed with me.
Again, I guess it's down to what you are used to or compare it to.

I have to agree with clubman and gordo6 on the LHR King David lounge.
As someone who uses is it several times a year it is looking tired and a new lounge would be very welcome.
I remember reading on here somewhere that ElAl were waiting to see what was going to happen with the terminal moves after T5 opening before doing anything with the lounge but now that it seems they are staying in T1, what are they waiting for?
CDG lounge was refurbished not long ago, so surely it is time for LHR?

Well, maybe for those who don't care about the availability of good quality kosher food. For some of us, that is one of the reasons we fly with EL AL.
