What is this about Ramon opening up properly to INTL flights, is it part of a major program there?

Do nigerians need a visa for israel? and what about vice-versa - is a letter of some sort needed for visitors to nigeria?

from nigeria government website:

Requirements for Tourist/Visitor Visa:

  1. Passport valid for at least 6 months.
  2. Duly completed visa application form.
  3. Two recent passport photographs.
  4. Introduction Letter (from applicant).
  5. Evidence of online payment for visa fee.
  6. CAC certificate of Host company or Permission for an NGO.
  7. Flight Itinerary.
  8. Only applicants with the above requirements would be allowed entrance into Nigeria following further interview.

It was part of a program of the ministry of tourism to attract European tourists to the overpriced hotels in Eilat. A lot of the foreign tourists only end up staying a day or two in Eilat and then cross the border to Aqaba for much more reasonably priced hotels.

rafi2k6 I'm confused by the Southern route - isn't it going through Oman airspace?

If not, why can't Israeli carriers use this precise route to fly to Thailand, India etc?

He brought that to show why the closure of Omani airspace doesnt affect TLV-Tokyo flights because El Al wouldn't fly that way anyway since its longer than the northern route over Turkey, etc.

I actually booked a flight in april TLV to brussels with ryanair, and now i see that all the dates from end of march have been pulled, not possible to book anymore. Wonder if they wont operate these routes from natbag anymore? will my flight be cancelled?
EDIT: now bookable again.

Plans to restart Israeli carriers flying to Turkey

https://www.israelhayom.co.il/travel/article/13221433

Part of Defense minister Gantz's current trip to Turkey is to discuss security arrangements for Israeli carriers to be able to fly again to Turkey. Currently only Turkish carriers fly between Turkey and Israel due to Turkey not allowing Israeli security to operate at Turkish airports.

Sun D'Or adding twice weekly flights to Casablanca

https://travel.walla.co.il/item/3537208
Sun Dor adding twice weekly flights to Casablanca, this is in addition to El Al's existing flights to Marrakesh.

Not sure why El Al still has the separate brand of Sun D'or anymore, i dont see what purpose it is serving as a different brand.

The one time I paid any attention to Sun D'or (which was in approximately 1993), I thought it was LY's low-cost charter division and only bookable via certain travel agencies. Did that change?

Their flights are bookable via tour operators as part of a package deal, but also via the ELAL website.
For example, some of the Zagreb flights are Sun D'or but bookable via LY's site.

El Al has cancelled their route to HKG, effective immediately, according to the Israeli media.

Yeah, not surprising.

I'm still perplexed by their decision to cancel Toronto though, that still doesn't make any sense to me.
