My post in another thread was censored

I posted a post in the kosher near tel-aviv thread about why it was moved and that it should not have been. I explained that I think this forum (LY) is over-moderated and my post has been removed.

Maybe we are quickly approaching the dark ages of modern censorship on flyertalk.

Discussing Specific Moderator Actions - link to this guideline
On-board discussion of moderator decisions - including post deletions and member discipline - is not allowed and will be removed. Members will also be subject to disciplinary action. Similarly, posts announcing a member's return to FlyerTalk after a suspension or ban are not allowed. If you have a question about a moderator action, contact the moderator directly or Randy Petersen.

Oh well, never knew that but why didn't you tell me that when you sent me a PM regarding that thread - that would have been more helpful than telling me now!
Moderators - sorry if I have broken the rules - just wanted to air my opinion - something I suppose is not allowed!

That is a very good point! ^ I didn't think about it then. I don't think you are 'in trouble' just RBP your post here and explain that you didn't understand and ask them to delete this thread.

I know it is frustrating when we think a thread is in the perfect location, and it gets moved. In this case, the thread in question is:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/relig...en-gurion.html

We got RBPs (report bad posts) as to its location in the El Al forum, from folks rightly pointing out that it was not specific to El Al. But we've also frustrated some of you, as many of the folks who would have knowledge on the topic can be found in this forum. It's certainly a judgment call. We simply try to put information where people can find it and benefit from it in the future.

The thread is now in the Religious Forum, as it wasn't specific to El Al. The Religious Forum has ended up as a good central point for folks who are asking about religious food restrictions as they travel. It seems a good place for people to be able to find the information in the future.

I hope this the explanation is helpful, if not completely satisfying to those who would like the thread undisturbed. And yes, we don't allow public discussion of moderation, but I felt the question to be genuine and wanted to show respect for it. Since it's been asked and answered, I'll close this thread.
