Booking an additional seat next to mine
Any experience of doing this?
Customer service said that I can just book a second seat under my name. I just wanted to check if anyone has ever done and if, indeed, that is the way to do it! |
Have the Same Question -- anyone know how to book extra seat
I'm also looking to book 2 passengers with an empty middle seat. Happy to pay for this 3rd seat. Anyone know where I can find the rules? Ryanair publishes the name you need to use for the empty seat. I cannot find any rules published for EasyJet. I messaged EasyJet via Twitter but they are not responding to general questions. Thanks in advance.

As a data point, I have seats 1D and 1F booked for self & wife and wanted to book 1E as an extra seat. I called and was told to book it myself online (to save the phone fee) but to type the name as "OBJ FIRSTNAME" "OBJ SURNAME" -- I found this odd, but then I googled and indeed there is a reply a few lines down in this Twitter post from easyJet saying the same thing:
Presumably OBJ stands for "object" and the notation is meant to indicate you have a cello or something. |

Thanks for this useful thread abd to ft101 for providing the link to this.
Any other recent experience with this? Still ok to book the third seat with either my own name or with the OJB MY NAME approach? |

Hi All,
just booked a ticket using the OBJ my name method. To be clear I entered ‘OBJ Peter’ and OBJ Smith’ is this correct? I’ve checked in and have obtained an apple digital boarding pass. when going thorough check in at gatwick do I need to scan this plus my other boarding pass? what’s the process? thank |

Sorry to wake a dead thread but a couple of questions here.
Does anyone know how this would be treated if seat was given away due to overbooking on a flight? (I assume no compensation for IDB on the second seat but a refund?) With easyJet Plus would I need to pay for the second seat? If so is it possible to buy another easyJet Plus for use? I’m in the throngs of abandoning BA but do miss seat blocks and empty middle seat. |
Hi, not sure why you want to purchase easyJet plus additionally?
I just bought an extra seat using the above post method and when at gate told agent who scanned my second boarding pass to ensure it would be kept empty. BA CE at a fraction of the price! |
Because if I have to pay for seat selection fee at same as normal rate for every flight I’ll take over the year it would be cheaper to buy Plus for my imaginary travel Buddy than pay for the seat each time. My understanding is easyJet plus seat selection only applies to the card holder and therefore I’d have to pay for the second seat selection as well.
