My understanding is easyJet plus seat selection only applies to the card holder and therefore I’d have to pay for the second seat selection as well.

Did you find out the answer to this?

Also, how long have people waited for the 51% discount code? I've been waiting for a week now.

When one purchases an extra seat, does it come with a second small carryon for free?

No, I have recently lucked out and ended up with about half the flights I've had on U2 naturally having middle seat free. If this changes I'll investigate and report back but for now I'm happy enough with the luck I've had so far this year.

I've booked a "comfort" seat in addition to my own using the "OBJ FIRST NAME OBJ SURNAME" method as mentioned in this thread and as per instructions from EZY web chat support. Also grateful for the advice here about needing to ensure gate agent scans the extra pass.

My question is, do I I need to scan the extra boarding pass when passing the e-gates just before security at Gatwick? If yes how would it work if I've already been let through by my own boarding pass?

no need to scan pass at security gate. When you are at gate have the gate agent scan second boarding pass and let them know you booked the extra seat so they don’t place any other passengers there who are on standby etc.

Much appreciated - many thanks

also for clarity, do not trust the chat people, they will say you have to buy the seat at an expensive price! I simply just booked the seat using the method in the thread above as if it were an additional passenger on my booking.

safe travels all!

Just to add, I've now checked in for the EZY flight on which I've booked a "comfort seat". The boarding pass for the extra seat (in my name with "OBJ" prefixing first & surname as per up thread) also depicts "SA".

I assume stands for Special Assistance and must have been automatically added by EZY's system. Perhaps a trigger for the gate agent to ensure the (non-person) boarding pass gets scanned at gate?

Apologies for bumping this yet again, are the instructions still the same? I'm sure they used to be on the easyJet website, but now that says call customer service to book.
Also has anyone had any success in booking a comfort seat when booking an easyJet holiday?

I'm also trying to ditch BA and on longer flights would prefer to have the middle seat blocked off, it's bearable having someone sat there on a 40 min LBA-BFS, but only just.

I seem to have had some bad luck, on basically every flight it seems full with the front row mainly filled with those checking in last.

Afraid I can't reply to the specific question. But having done the middle seat thing on United and JetBlue, I'd strongly advise that when at the gate boarding, make sure the gate agent understands that you've bought and blocked the middle seat. For the recent United flight, the gate agent was clueless about this process, so I had to explain it to him.

Easyjet chat just now tells me to scan the boarding pass at security.

I think they’re getting confused with scanning the “OBJ” pass at the gate. I’ve done a good few comfort seats in the last few months and never scanned the extra pass at security but always have it scanned along with my own pass at the gate. Thinking about it how would we scan an extra boarding pass at security as the gate only
opens per single pass scan?

Scan OBJ pass, let gate open, scan my pass, walk through?

Happy to be corrected but you can’t scan two passes at a security egate of any airport. The gate opens after scan and you have to walk through, then it closes before another one can be scanned. I’ve just this morning flown back from Valencia with an OBJ middle seat and only scanned my own pass at security but both passes at gate.

Sorry, one other question. When checking in, do you fill in passport, dob details etc. as usual as per you main name. Presuming so, but wanted to check there aren't any clashes or such which comes up? Thanks.
