Feedback on Dollar in SAN?

Feedback on Dollar in SAN?
I have a week-long leisure rental coming up this summer. Dollar is $100 cheaper than Avis, where I have the Preferred thing and know I'll get the car I reserved, quickly. (I also have Fastlane status on Dollar but on the few occasions I've tried to invoke it, it hasn't seemed to count for anything.)
Anyway -- should I spend the extra $100 on Avis for peace of mind? Or is Dollar OK in San Diego?
