Check out Mercy Medical Airlift (http://www.mercymedical.org/). They may only deal with US based flights, but I imagine they might know of some similar agencies that support travel to India.

There is a Continental flight 870 out of SXM on Monday at 3:15pm, connect in Newark, (1hr 50min layover) to flight 82 arriving at DEL (Delhi, India) at 9:15pm for $1836.
The same routing on Tuesday is $1614.80.
Only one stopover, easy connection but flying into DEL. You didn't specify where in India you needed to get. You can contact Continental and ask about fare concessions. Call the Caribbean Reservations desk in St Maarten, Netherlands Antilles the number is 0111 800 231 0856
Good luck

Be careful how you ask. If you present him as being medically unstable and desperately sick, they won't let him fly at all, or they will require him to bring a medical escort (and purchase a seat for the escort), which will cost you more than one business class seat.

Chococat's response was exactly my thoughts as well. Many airlines require a doctor's letter stating your father is well enough to travel. Without one, they may refuse to ticket him or let him board - especially if he needs oxygen.
