JFK T1 Hallway to Customs Filled With Abandoned Wheelchair Patrons

I just got off a Royal Air Maroc flight and as I walked to customs counted nearly 70 people just sitting in the hallway in their wheelchairs, waiting for a lift to customs.

This seems an abnormally large number to me; is it like this often now? I think the most I’ve seen, even during a busy travel season, was maybe 20 something - and that would be with a large number of A380/747 type loads landing within a short time of one another.

EDIT: This was clearly meant for TravelBuzz - apologies.
