Atention Mods Moving Posts Here!
(Mods, delete this post if it's out of line. Otherwise, sticky it.)
Hi,
If you're a Mod and you're about to move a thread here, please check the following...
1) Have you identified where this was moved from, and changed the thread title to be more appropriate? Is it full of jargon used only in an airline specific forum?
2) Is it really appropriate to move it here? Questions about a specific airline's policies are more likely to be answered by the people who fly that airline, not by us. If no one in the airline specific forum knows, then it might be a good idea to move it here, but if people are actually engaging with useful information then don't. The OP being disabled does not warrant it being moved here.
3) Again, is it really a *general* question about disability travel, not a specific airline? Information on how to complain, how to request assistance, general travel tips are examples of the questions that are likely to be answered here. "Does PanAm offer gluten free meals, and how do I ensure I get an aisle seat?" does not.

I find that when disability related questions are asked in an airline specific forum, if the regular posters in that forum know the answer, it's posted quickly.
Otherwise it tends to deteriorate into speculation very quickly. Able-bodied people are wonderful, of course, but many of them have absolutely no idea how people with disabilities navigate the world, and what policies/accommodations airlines have in place to assist, even if they are otherwise extremely knowledgeable.
Kind of like my husband, who insists that buildings have no elevators even though he's never even looked for them.
So I think it's a good idea to move disability related threads here after people have had a whack at it in its original location.
I agree it's a good idea for the moving moderator to make sure that pertinent information is added if not obvious.
