driving with a cast - legal?

Actually I did state in the original post the nature of the problem - non-healing fracture of the ankle. But, glory be, the cast is now off and we're down to an ace wrap on the ankle without a traffic accident while casted.
oldpenny16 and DeafFlyer: I know exactly what you mean about fatigue, and how debilitating it is. I've been dealing with this ankle problem since Feb. 5 and I feel like I've gotten nothing done for 5 months, just kind of trying to survive a lot of days.

Time spent in rehab is generally a good investment but I've had some bumps along the road with that as my medical insurance only paid for a very limited number of visits and all had to be done within a 30 day period. Fortunately the rehab people are used to this and allowed me to bring in a family member to be my at home helper.
Sadly I received no training on how to use mobility aids and had to learn by doing and from advice from disabled people who were honest enough to call me out when I was doing something wrong or with a poor technique.
