Entertainment Card Question

So I've been buying and using the Entertainment Card for more than twenty years here in the Sacramento area. Now I wonder if I've been missing out on something. I sometimes use the Fine Dining option where they scratch out one of the numbers on the back of the card. This does not require any coupon from the book. So if I'm in another city (say, Chicago) at a restaurant that I've found that accepts the E card, can I use my E card there? I realize that my card would then have a number scratched off on a place that I then couldn't use locally, but so be it. Anyone tried this? My card does not have any reference to Sacramento on it, so I'm wondering if all the cards look the same nationwide and thus could be used for Fine Dining in any city regardless if you've bought the Entertainment book/card for that town???

Some have cards and some have coupons. All the cards I have seen seem to be the same and I have often used the card one one in different cities. Lately though I see few bargains using the cards and go with the restaurants specials.

Yes, this can definitely work... problem is figuring out the restaurants.

Peteropny tried to get us on board late last year....

DEFINITELY works. Have done it several times. In addition, log into your Entertainment.com account, put in the city's zip code you plan to visit. View 'printable discounts'. They are good for 14 days, so print them right before you leave.

Or you can just browse the Fine Dining choices (be sure to ask to see 'more choices') and use it the way suggested above by just handing them your card and not using a printable discount. I see that there just aren't that many good choices for Fine Dining in the SF or San Jose books. Too bad. Even though our Sacramento book Fine Dining has gone downhill a bit, there are still a fair amount of reliable choices.

By the way, all of the 2009 Entertainment Books are on sale for $9.99 + $4.99 shipping. Or they'll give it to you for free +4.99 if you reserve a 2010 book.
