I've only had the garlic fries (didn't even know that cheese was an option) and while they smelled terrific, I didn't find them to be anything special.

However, I always look forward to having an Ivar Dog when I head up to Safeco, which is about once a season. It's basically a seafood spin on a hot dog, in which the sausage is replaced by fried fish fillets on a bed of coleslaw. I usually top it off with tartar sauce, too. I feel like it's a pretty unique item and perhaps even the Seattle Mariners' signature food.

Nothing too exciting to report on in regards to my other sports experiences, although I was disappointed by the Bell Centre's (Montreal Canadiens) famous hot dogs. They're unique, for sure, but not delicious or anything.

I am too a hockey fan I like the Rangers and Canadiens. but my friend likes the devils, when we go to a game, before we go we would stop off at the fire place and get better food at lower prices.

Now I know everybody lives in a different area, I would rather eat at a pasta place than spend the money at a stadium or arena.

or even a chain.

Fenway Franks are good, but they're gonna stop serving them in September this year.

AT&T Park in San Francisco has some amazing options. The Cha Cha Bowl in center field from Orlando's Caribbean BBQ. The nachos from Tres Agaves (a local place with a stand at the park), garlic fries, Ghirardelli ice cream sundaes (made to order then brought to you at your seat).

Best food at any park I've been to and one of the few parks where I'd rather eat there than outside somewhere.

I was sorely disappointed by the pit beef at Camden Yards, it has a really good reputation but I found it cold and generally meh. You do get a lot of it though. As you'd expect with Delia Smith as director the pies at Norwich City are generally excellent. Exeter City have a Dominos inside the ground

I once had BBQ chicken when I saw U2 at Cowboys Stadium back in 2009. It was VERY tasty for the $10 I paid.

However, when I went to Wrestlemania at the University of Phoenix Stadium in 2010, I had to pay $9 for a 6-inch hot dog that tasted like SPAM. Rip-off!

Overpriced and bad. The worst offender is MSG.

Easily true. Though I begrudge all of the NYC area stadiums/arenas for charging $10 for a beer. I don't pay their extortionist prices, but it still irritates me. I guess they sell enough at that price that supply=demand. I don't get it though.

I guess revenues are seeked to cover costs, and concessions is one stream of revenue..

The Yankees are running over budget with their roster as an example.. gotta get it from somewhere..

Having financed many sports teams via my profession, concessions are a drop in the bucket relative to other sources of income. The profit margin for food & drink, however, is among the greatest, especially on beer and soda.

Glad to hear from someone experienced in this area..

Granted other streams of revenue such as tickets, parphernalia, parking.. will outshadow the revenue of concessions.. but as you said, some sports teams focus on the food as a revenue source because of the high profit margin..
