Any ice cold Samual Adams beer since it's almost non-existent in my neck of the woods!! Until just about 4 months ago I couldn't find any Samual Adams beer anywhere around the Nagoya (in Japan) area. Then, the local Jusco (a big supermarket chain) redid their liquor section which suddenly had many excellent wines and imported beers including Samuel Adams Boston Lager!!! Now, whenever I have a bbq on my three burner American style gas grill, the food tastes even more delicious! Boston Lager is the only Samuel Adams beer I can find here in Japan which is fantastic!! Aaaaahhhhhh! A touch of home on the other side of the planet!!!!!

My wife, daughter, mother-in-law, and I went to Boston this summer to visit family and friends. The day after we arrived I bought a 6 pack of Summer Ale. Needless to say, our daily happy hour made the nearly 24 hour door to dor transit time well worth flying Delta's old, uncomfortable, well-worn, and ageing 747-400 (in the new EC, too!). I felt like a kid in the candy store standing in awe before all the wonderful, chilled Samuel Adams beers displayed before me with my nose pressed up against the refrigerator glass door!!! The hardest part was deciding which beer to choose and then, sadly, saying good-bye to an old friend when we had to leave Boston and return to Japan! At least I have my Boston Lager available to greet me upon my return to the Nagoya area!!

In short, one quickly learns to appreciate any touch of home when it isn't so readily available anymore! Therefore, any Samuel Adams beer will taste great when one is so far, far, far away from home and can't easily find and buy it!!!

I'm a big fan of the Cherry Wheat but I can't drink just it by itself so I usually, have a Cherry Wheat followed by a Stella Artois, rinse and repeat. After about 4 each, I don't remember much.

Pretty safe with any Sam Adams but if I had to pick, it would be a Noble Pils

Another vote for Noble Pils. Even found it on draft at some airport bars this year. It's great.

The thickly seasoned fall and winter beers I am less fond of, but as I get older i don't like the heavier stuff so much anyway.

While I enjoy Noble Pils, I've found that where I live, most really dislike it. It takes bars quite a while to kick kegs of it, not that I complain, because it's more for me, and they order less kegs of Noble Pils than of other styles. Due to the apparent dislike for it, they also seem to rush into Summer Ale. Once they have Summer Ale, it then seems like it takes longer for that to kick, I think because since they switched to it so early, people tire of it, and by the end of summer, no one wants to drink it.

I love having a Seasonal Sam's in context. Drinking a Summer Ale on a hot day by the ocean, Oktoberfest with my football snacks, or watching the snow with a Winter Lager.

Also, for a cool experience, buy the Latitude 48 IPA Breakdown pack. Probably not any individual beers you would purchase on their own, but I enjoyed trying all the different additions to the end product.

Has anyone tried Alpine Spring, their new Spring seasonal? I'm not a fan of "sissy" beers, and made the comment that if I wanted to drink something that lousy, I'd drink Stella. Very disappointed they went to this as their seasonal, rather than Noble Pils. This leaves only 1 seasonal I really love--Octoberfest. I'll drink Winter Lager occasionally, but it doesn't excite me that much.

as stated earlier in the thread, if in Boston area, make the trip for the brewery tour, good tour & generous tastings at end of the tour!

Octoberfest without a doubt. Come September when they go on sale I buy 4 cases asap and just before they are on their way out I buy a huge stock pile. Such a great beer. Sam Adams is also my go to beer at places with small selections that and Newcastle. Both seem to be available at most places in the US.

I'm a little ashamed at how much I liked the Cherry Wheat. It was like a Cherry Coke but beer, if that makes any sense.
