What is the MOST you have Ever Spent on a Meal per Head ?

After two amounts

a) Total per head for the meal including drinks

b) Total per head just for the food

Most i've spent is $300 Australian per head which was made up of $150 per head for food and $150 per head for wine/champagne

The most expensive? Maybe US $300. It was a job interview, I had no idea it would be either $300 or a Dutch treat, I didn't get the job, and I ate lots of spaghetti for a while.

GBP280 (Food 120, Wine 160) so about USD450 per head for the Tasting menu and flight of wines at the Fat Duck. Well worth it, but not the sort of thing I'd be looking to do every weekend!

Under 21 at the time so no drink but H20... but my family did splurge $70 each for the Princeville Resort Buffet on LIH last December... mmm... what an ono meal that was ^^

It was La Pergola in Rome and DH said it cost our first born child - about $1,000 total as we had mega priced wine as well and the Euro was way up!:p

Alinea in Chicago. 26 course tasting menu with approximately 13-15 wine pairs as well.

US$550 per person, inclusive of tax and tip. I don't recall the specific breakdown of wine vs. food, but I think it was approximately 60% food cost and 40% wine cost.

Best meal of my entire life, and I will repeat it again for valentine's day!

Second most expensive meal for me was Alex @ Wynn Las Vegas - around $350 per person tax and tip inclusive. The food was good, but Alinea blew Alex out of the water.

You were on an interview and the company made you pay for your food? Wow - my industry (financial services) would never let that happen. I think that's pretty poor form of the interviewer.

I couldn't imagine a scenario in which the interviewee would ever have to pay for his/her meal if they were taken out.

Oh - the most I've spent is about £200 per person at Aurora in the City of London. 1/3 on food, 2/3 on wine.

I think it would have to be Robuchon's tasting menu in Vegas -- we did it paired with wine -- I think it was about $600 a head. A great experience...but we were hungry later. :)

320 EUR, in a dinner in Jost Van Dyke Islan, in the Caribbean

Ah the stupidity of youth

Was in Paris, and wanted sushi.
The Ritz had a nice sushi bar so had lunch there, no prices on the menu.
Used to get 2 pieces per order, but the menu was by piece.
With 1 large sake, about $350; most for lunch I've ever spent.

That was almost 20yrs go.

Ditto. And we didn't really splurge on wine, either. Wasn't hungry later, but over a year later, I unfortunately don't recall much about the dinner except for the crazy bread and dessert trolley.

Anniversary dinner at Cyrus in Healdsburg,CA is a close second, owing to us splurging (as we like to do!) on caviar, a white truffle supplement, and upgraded wine pairings.

Now what if you also planned an entire weekend trip around a restaurant? If that's the case, then technically, I guess the most would be Alinea (once you add in hotel and airfare!)

USD 400 in late 1980s dollars, an exquisite dinner at Masa'a in San Francisco when Julian Serrano was the chef.

$450 CAD per person for lunch at Taillevent -- I had just received confirmation that I had aced my Master's Thesis. I think the wine was 60% and the food 40% of the total.....
