Beat me to it.

I love CFA. The regular lemonade is almost too sweet. ;)

Do those that boycott CFA based on the religions beliefs of the founders scrutinize the donation habits of all businesses (assuming that the FOTF donations are corporate, not personal) before deciding to patronize them?

I love CFA, I have one within walking distance to my house. The highest compliment is that even when I travel and can expense my meal, I still eat there time to time. Of course, when I am in the Carolinas, I would make a stop at Bojangles over a CFA because of the biscuits and iced tea.

Bojangles over CFA? Are their biscuits really that good?

They are pretty tasty. I love both.

I really, really enjoy a chicken biscuit from Chik-Fil-A in the morning though. Yum! Of course eating one requires skipping lunch. They are quite filling. :p

calendar promo yet?

Greetings and Merry Christmas! Anybody seen a calendar promo yet? I am hoping CFA repeats last year's promo, which was, buy a gift card, receive a free calendar!!! Thanks!:D

Only had 'em a couple of times, and it was good as far as chicken sandwiches go (bette than McD's or Wendy's) but not lick-yer-chops scrumptious. I'll have to try the #1 Deluxe Combo mentioned above next time I'm near one (which, unfortunately, isn't terribly often).

I, however, absolutely fell in love with an Australian chain with similar products called Red Rooster. Now THOSE are some good chicken burgers--moist, spicy, and crispy! After having driven through three days of desolate desert in the Outback, I came across one in Tennant Creek. I immediately ordered two sandwiches. Mmm, mmm! They're almost worth redeeming 140,000 AS miles to fly QF F to Oz just for one...but alas, since I have to go to work tomorrow, I'll just have to settle for a Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich tonight (all this chicken talk is making me crave at least something chicken-y...)

A new CFA location is opening near my workplace next month. To introduce themselves, they are bringing in free lunch and free coupons (for use after the new location opens up). Smart move.

Very nice idea. You know you can also be one of the first X number of people in line and win CFA for a year, right? :)

Pretty much the only fast food I will eat on a regular basis. I get the fruit w/ the grilled sandwich. The honey mayo that comes with it is awesome. I like the way the company operates too.

IMHO, CFA consistently has the best sweet tea of a fast food chain. Arby's next in line, but I've had times where it was overly sweet - even for southern sweet tea! :p

We had one of these in the tiny food-court at my college and that ruined it for me for life. :D
I will say their little nuggets were good at the time though.

Free Bird!

I'm reviving this thread to post an item from today's Washington Post about people camping out at a Chick Fil A in Virginia in order to receive a year's worth of free food.

I'm not going to top the headline writer's "Free Bird!" so I appropriated it; or the reporter's description of these folks as "frequent fryers", so I stole that, too.

An excerpt:

Spend 24 hours at a Chick-fil-A opening and witness the teeny ironies of human economics: how people skip work and burn gasoline traveling hundreds of miles for coupons, how a company thrives in a marketplace meltdown by treating its customers like royalty and promoting a genius PR stunt, how the First 100 escape the world by forming a barricade of tents around a beacon of your-way-right-away capitalism.

Chick-fil-A has promoted religious groups via toys and CDs included in children's meals... Aziz Latif, claims that he was training to become a franchise operator in November 2000 when he was fired because of his Muslim faith. According to Ajay Choudhary, his Houston-based lawyer, Latif says he lost his job "one day after he did not participate in a prayer to Jesus Christ." Choudhary notes that Latif, who started working at Chick-fil-A in 1994--which suggests that he felt okay about the place for six years--"received excellent performance evaluations, including one the week he was fired."...The parent company asks people who apply for an operator license to disclose marital status, number of dependents and involvement in “community, civic, social, church and/or professional organizations.

I could go on ad nauseam with citations, etc. of many many many items which makes we never ever want to eat at this venomous place, ever.

I'm with you on that one. I used to eat there occasionally, until I found out about the hate groups they give their money to (and yes, I consider them hate groups). I won't ever give them another dime as long as I live.

You can't possibly know where your money goes after you spend it. To single out one company because you disagree with the religious or philosophical beliefs of the owners is to deny yourself some gooood chicken. Where does your dollar spent at Zaxby's go? KFC? El Pollo Loco? For all I know, they all fund the American Communist Party. So what.

After reading about the food here, I decided to try it in ATL a few weeks back.

I have absolutely no idea why anybody would go back a second time....
