It is just a burger
Five guys is nothing special. Big portion, better than McD's and Bugger Death. No where near as good as Cheeburger Cheeburger. Sadly many CCs I know have died in FL. I wonder if it is cause of 5G? I am in Tampa. it is a local company. I wont go - Square One here is far better. But if I was somewhere and it was about the only choice, like I said in the beginning, better than others.

Personally I think Five Guys is overrated and overpriced. I would rather save some money by grilling my own custom burger up outside. It's tastes a lot better and is as fresh as it can be.

For those asking, there are 2 Five Guys in IAD. One is located across from gate B71 in the "new" part of the B terminal. The other is located in the A terminal, where the majority of the United Express flights leave from. As to Reagan, there's one in C past security, all the way down the end on the left. |
I've been known to hit up the Five Guys at DCA and LGA for breakfast before a 7am flight. Something about it still hits the spot that early in the morning.
I agree that it's not the "best" burger in the world, but for a fast food burger it's definitely up there. The variety of toppings and generous portions of fries are a big plus, as are the made-on-the-spot burgers compared to the heatlamp, premade kind you get at McDonalds or BK. |
I wrote many pages ago how inferior it was to In N Out. I went a second time with the family and actually had a much better experience. The burger wasn't as greasy and is still second to the chain mentioned above, but it does not deserve my harsh criticism. The fries are way better than In N Out.

Given that they seem to have expanded to just about every neighborhood, I shouldn't be surprised, but I hear that they are opening a location in downtown White Plains. Good news for me, given that I like Five Guys, and it'll be much better than the goofy Westchester Burger joint that opened a few months ago.

Question about 5G Fries- Can anyone finish a regular serving of their fries by themselves? Maybe I just can't eat like I used to, but I find it pretty difficult to finish the whole regular serving by myself. I don't have help either, SO won't touch them (veg/vegan, but she comes along because I ask her too ;) )

I can't eat more than 5-6 fries....and that is dipping them in malt vinegar.
now they are better than the fries at McD, BK, Whataburger, etc, but I just can't do fries much these days. there is a local joint that does sweet potato fries that I can handle a lot better, but even they get old after a couple. |
Sigh....what I wouldn't give for a big, juicy burger with salty, malty fries right now.
In fact, I would be happy with beef that came from an animal that at least moo'd through it's hopefully happy but short life or beef that doesn't need quotation marks ("Beef"). |
