What kind of woman eats at Hardees?
If you live in or visit the South (and watch any TV) you've seen the ads. Blue collar, hungry men eating enormous hamburgers. They don't care if they get bbq sauce all over their t-shirts. (They also don't care about the health department inspection score on the wall). Everything's big, everything's designed to clog your arteries, hamburgers are never bare but other men's favorites are used as toppers: bacon, onion rings, roast beef (!!??), 3 more hamburgers.
I don't eat there. Every Hardeees I've been in is filthy. It's funny because their Western counterpart (Carl's Jr.) is almost identical but much more likely to be clean. So yesterday as I'm stopped at a light, I watch 4 cars doors open and 4 women head for the front door of a local Hardees. Bathroom (shudder) stop? Meeting guys? Splitting a cheeseburger? What kind of woman eats at Hardees? |

Now, Hardee's breakfast biscuits can't be beat. |
I certainly do not eat there but I know what you mean. I went to college in Saint Louis and of course Hardees was there but I am from Southern CA and we have Carls Jr. Like you said Hardees is nowhere as clean as Carls Jr. Every now and then I will get a breakfast sandwhich from Carls Jr. if I am in a hurry in the morning but it is not very often.

I used to live in Northern Virginia near Washington DC, and Hardee's was the second most disgusting fast food restaurant on the landscape. The flat-out worst was Roy Rogers.

•What did these women look like? •How were they dressed? •What kind of car were they riding in? Since there were four women, this should be a fairly representative sample of the prototypical Hardee's customer. |
i've only been to one hardees, off the freeway between cleveland and columbus, but it was very clean, and i liked my burger and fries (although i will admit it was hard to eat the damn thing while driving!)

2. Jeans & t-shirts. Typical casual dress for the area. 3. Not sure. It was shiny and relatively new. 4 doors. Probably intermediate size. And yes, their combined weight might have equaled that of an average Hardees customer. |

I sometimes eat at Carls Jr or new looking Hardee's about 3 times in the last 2 years. I actually find them to be quite good because they are very friendly to not eating bread.
I like the egg breakfast bowl(no biscuits or anything) with some hot sauce it is good and quite cheap. It is good for a road trip anyway. I don't have much clue about their burgers I pretty much only eat burgers I make at home. |
I've found the Las Vegas Carls Jr's* to be as disgusting as the Hardee's in my home state of Wisconsin, YMMV.
OTOH, in the early 80's I enjoyed my hometown Hardee's as a place to hang out with my high school friends. For a year in the early 90's I enjoyed visiting that same Hardee's as a college student. *In my two visits of the last eleven years. |
I just realized the thread is about what kind of woman eats at Hardee's...can't really help you, there.

"What kind of woman eats at Hardees?"

I don't care who eats at Hardees. I'm puzzled over what draws a woman to a restaurant that seems to be directing 100% of its marketing effort at men. |

I've never been to Hardee's and now I know one less place I'd want to visit when I'm hungry. Thanks for the thread.:p

I'm a woman and I have no idea either what kind of woman would eat at one. I've never eaten at one, and my girlfriends have never expressed any desire whatever to eat there. In fact, I'm pretty sure we'd all choose starvation over eating there.
|
I'm eating at Hardees right now b/c I'm in middle of nowhere Iowa and I needed to use the internet and there is no starbucks.
|
Not this kind! My friends, either. Just watching their commercials makes my stomach turn.
|
I have to admit, I love their hot ham n cheese sandwiches. So much so when my mother would fly down to visit she would buy a dozen uncooked and freeze them for me.
But that really doesn't tell you what kind of woman I am, does it? |
I've gone to Hardee's for breakfast a couple times in the last year. It's not the cleanest, but it is really good in the morning, though I've never seen a woman there and I do feel disgusting afterwards. Considering I only eat fast food on the rarest of occassions I don't feel too bad about it.
Not sure why a woman wouldn't go to Hardee's. There are just many overweight grease-eating women as there are men, at least here in BNA-land. |
Women with a craving for Hardee's.
I'm the first to admit I'm a food snob, but I'm also the first to run for the box of KD or toast with cheez whiz (my other dark secret) when I get that once a year craving, it's a hangover from my poor university student days. I wouldn't go out of my way for Hardee's, but if you grew up with it, chances are you'll end up craving it once in a while. |

I was sure the OP was going to continue "...and where can I find one?" :D
Paris Hilton might eat at Hardee's if her infamous 'Bentley Car Wash' commercial for Carl's Jr. were allowed east of the Mississippi. |

I'll cop to having eaten at Hardees twice in my life, both times when I was on the road, needed to eat, and it was the only thing around. One of those two times, I didn't even get out, just did the drive through. So there's one more explanation for females at Hardee's
My personal experiences aside, I'm not sure why this is a gendered question. The current spate of ads may focus on men (I wouldn't know, I've never seen one of their ads as far as I know), but there is more to life than ads and certainly more to reality than ads, so I'm back to my intial confusion as to why this is a gendered question. I don't eat at Hardees, but I don't eat at McDonalds or Burger King either, if given a choice. I don't, as a rule, eat fast food if I have a choice. But I think all this has much more to do with my food preferences than my ovaries! ;) |

huh? the same "kind" as the men eating there... or when the hardees is the only option...
|
I am female. I worked at Hardee's when I was in high school (it was my second job after I told McDonald's to shove it after they fired my friends for having a party on their own time at the Hilltop House, but that's another story) in the mid-80's.
The Hardee's I worked at was pretty clean, and the manager was nice and the food was pretty darn good for rural Iowa. I loved the mushroom 'n' swiss burger, the apple pies and the tiny round hash browns. Every morning all the old men of the town would come to Hardee's, get a small coffee and sit around talking. It was a local institution! Now I travel the world and eat in fancy restaurants, but every once in a while I still think about those MnS burgers. Yum! |

Pretty good shakes :) |

I love Hardee's burgers, and I've always found their restaurants clean. McDonald's or Burger King, on the other hand... yuck

Bottom line - Hardees went downhill after they changed their fries in the 90's.
