I've had Foxon Park a few times which was very good. They are based out of Connecticut in East Haven.

The south is the birthplace of a lot of famous and not so famous soft drinks.
Atlanta, GA - Coca Cola
New Bern, NC - Pepsi Cola
Columbus GA - Royal Crown Cola
Chattanooga TN - Double Cola

A list without Salisbury, North Carolina's Cheerwine is a travesty!

Oh and back on topic, I'm easy to please, a little Canada Dry for me and I'm set.

Canada Dry easily for regular Ginger Ale

Although I do love me the fire of Old Jamaica Ginger Beer, unfortunately extremely hard to find in the States and is more of a treat when I travel.

Another vote for Vernors here - nothing else I have had comes close.

Dr. Pepper was born in Waco, Texas (also, incidentally, home of the lesser known "Big Red".

for my dark & stormy drink the other night I used local Chicago producer Goose Island spicy ginger soda http://www.gooseisland.com/pages/spi...er_soda/51.php
I found it not very spicy & lacking ginger punch.

I also picked up some cans of Gosling's Stormy Ginger Beer which I haven't tried yet but gets a good review here: http://www.drinkhacker.com/2009/05/3...y-ginger-beer/

Vernors: half ginger ale, half cream soda concentrate.

I grew up on Foxon Park and Modern Pizza. It's still one of my favorite meals ever.

Unbeatably, though, Cascades Ginger Beer, only found in Tazmania, is by far and away my favorite carbonated (non alcoholc) beverage. Luckily, they make dynamite beer, too, including a few brews that don't make it off the island.

Pity if it's come to that. It used to be the gingeriest product out there.
It always did have the vanilla undertone, but what's wrong with that?

+1,000 on Cheerwine:cool: Was not trying for a complete list. Additions to famous drinks invented in the South are most welcome.

Always been a Vernor's fan. I like it sweet. Worst ginger ale? For me, Blenheim.
