Taking a Christmas Pudding to the USA

Hi,

I am spending Christmas in LA with family ^ and I want to take over a traditional Aussie Christmas Pudding? Is this allowable from a Customs perspective. If so what be the best way to pack it - I presume it would be safe in the hold of the aircraft?

Thanks
Brent

I've brought Xmas puddings home from London w/out problems; as I buy the small ones, I fit them in my rollaboard - can't imagine anything dire would happen to one in checked luggage, unless a worker might fancy it for his festive dinner.

I hope that detection technologies have improved a lot in the last decade ...
