Ask, and you shall receive. :o ^

My good friend mjm was reading this thread. As he transitted SFO, he picked up a 1 pound box of Sees and personally delivered it to me in New York. ;) It was a nice surprise.
I might add that Sees chocolate is a fine desert after a reuben sandwich at 1:00 am at Katz's Deli.

Note to self, next time ask for a 2 pound box. :D

Ya'll need to visit a "real" See's shop.... not a kiosk at an airport to get the full experience.

1. When you enter, you are given a free sample every time
2. You can mix and match and vertually build your own box of favorites
3. They will gift wrap the box for no charge in a variety of seasonal papers
4. They wear their traditional Black and White uniforms
5. Much more variety of items to choose from than a kiosk

So true. My last visit was on this past Valentine's Day. mr. horse glasses, being the gentleman that he is, decided to take me to See's and let me pick out my own chocolates, rather than getting me a mixed box (apparently he doesn't like it when I "check" to see what's in them before eating them!).

I recommend this to all you men out there! Though maybe go the day before, otherwise the store is full of men who waited til the last second to buy anything and single women in pajamas feeling sorry for themselves.

True, but getting there isn't convenient. I know I'll be at SFO soon though.

I'm not sure if this is true, but I once heard that, for the chocolate pieces, you can tell what's inside by the pattern of the "squiggle" of chocolate on the top. Is this true?

love the ones with almond clusters!

Yes it is true. Mom89339 worked for See's when I was in grade school. She still remembers most of the swirls--well at least the classic ones.

Yes, I believe each type/piece is distinct in shape and size too. Square, round, rectangular. Squared vs rounded corners. Height, length and width.

I don't know if I'm getting my point across or not, but I'm embarrassed that I can pretty much ID any of them. :o
